Information, orientation, help and contact for immigrants
The project “Welcome to Karlsruhe” offers initial information and orientation for immigrants from a single source. We want to help you feel welcome in Karlsruhe through support, networking and advice and to find a connection to social and societal structures as quickly as possible and without friction losses.
We try to do this in two ways:
Willkommenscafé
The first pillar is the weekly “Welcome Café”, every Wednesday from 4 to 6 pm in Café Globus. It not only provides a place for networking, information and meetings, but also establishes personal contacts. Access to services in all areas, such as housing, work, education, social and societal offerings, is to be improved. The integration guides, who provide immigrants with advice and assistance. They accompany them to authorities and offices or offer activities (such as city walks) to facilitate their arrival and identification with their new home.
Office hours:
Time: Wednesdays 4 – 6 p.m. at ibz
Place: ibz, ground floor, Café Globus
Infobörse
The second pillar of the project is the “Infobörse”. Various actors (e.g. job center, education authority, office for integration, migration counseling, migrant associations, etc.) present their respective offers and provide information on topics that are of great importance to new immigrants. The information exchange serves the bundled passing on of information. It takes place twice a year.
