Inte­gra­tion Man­age­ment — Sus­tain­able inte­gra­tion of refugees liv­ing in Karlsruhe

Refugees liv­ing in Karl­sruhe in fol­low-up accom­mo­da­tion are sup­port­ed with the aim of build­ing an inde­pen­dent life. This can only be achieved in the long term once the peo­ple have

• have acquired the Ger­man language
• have a job that can sup­port them and their family
• have ade­quate hous­ing available
• can man­age their parental respon­si­bil­i­ties, if they have chil­dren. (This includes, among oth­er things, attend­ing a day­care cen­ter, school or acquir­ing extracur­ric­u­lar education)
• have par­tic­i­pa­tion in the com­mu­ni­ty through social integration

Inte­gra­tion man­age­ment pro­vides assis­tance, accom­pa­nies and sup­ports peo­ple in suc­cess­ful­ly inte­grat­ing into soci­ety. Typ­i­cal tasks for the achieve­ment of goals are among others

• the joint cre­ation of an indi­vid­ual sup­port plan with time targets
• refer­ral to spe­cial­ist ser­vices in the event of psy­choso­cial problems
• advis­ing par­ents on par­ent­ing and edu­ca­tion­al issues
• Medi­a­tion of offers for the acqui­si­tion of Ger­man lan­guage skills
• Medi­a­tion of fur­ther edu­ca­tion­al offers with regard to pro­fes­sion­al advancement
• Sup­port­ing peo­ple in their efforts on the job market
• Medi­a­tion of leisure time offers (clubs, cul­tur­al offers etc.)
• Advice on asy­lum and res­i­dence law as well as on ques­tions of fam­i­ly reunification
• Expan­sion of inter­cul­tur­al com­mu­ni­ca­tion and meet­ing places
