The services and tasks of the Youth Migration Service (JMD) Individual integration support for newly immigrated young people aged 14 and over; advice for all young people with a migration background in crisis situations; advice for parents on school attendance, education and training for their children; group activities, including with local young people; collaboration in local networks for integration; help with personal problems; referral to regular services if necessary.
Aim of the service
The aim is to support young migrants in their linguistic, educational, professional and social integration into German society.
Prerequisite
The services offered by the Youth Migration Service are aimed at young people and young adults with a migration background (ethnic German immigrants and foreigners) between the ages of 14 and 27, especially those who have recently immigrated and are no longer of school age. The legal basis for funding is the federal government’s children and youth plan.
